Meet Bill Boyd
Bill began his insurance career with The Prudential in 1973. He worked as a direct sales agent for 3 years before advancing into the position of Corporate Development Manager. As a development manager, he recruited and trained field agents in life and group health. In 1979, Bill took a position with Wisconsin Physicians Service (WPS) in Madison Wisconsin as a sales representative, where he designed and implemented fully-insured and self-insured health plans for small and large group clients. In 1983 Bill was promoted to Sales Training and Development Director responsible for implementing a corporate wide sales training program. In 1985, Bill was promoted to Director of East Coast operations, working with health plans, PPO Networks and agencies in Washington D C, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee and Illinois. In 1993, Bill was hired as the Marketing Director and later as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for McNerney-Heintz, a Nation wide health system development company in Elgin Illinois. At the same time McNerney-Heintz was contracted to design and implement the MercyCare HMO program and Bill was put in charge of the sales and marketing. In 1996, Bill decided to join his wife and partner to build their own future by starting Boyd Consulting Group Inc., with offices in Milwaukee and Janesville.
Bill has been very involved with his industry and community serving as past Vice President of WAHU (Wisconsin Association of Health Underwriters ) along with serving on the Boards of Directors and past President of the Janesville Noon Rotary; Forward Janesville Inc. Board of Directors; YMCA Board of Directors and is the Past President of the Janesville Conservation Club. Bill is Vice President of Project 1649 for homeless children and current President of the Janesville Country Club, plus being the political chair for Janesville Noon Rotary and co-chair of the scholarship committee.
